Queensland Heritage Masonry were commissioned to demolish a small redundant Alter and to supply and install a grand High Alter similar to what once took pride of place at the Holy Spirit Church in New Farm.
A period of two months was allocated for demolition and construction of the new alter, with such a tight schedule carful planning was needed to coordinate the construction of not only the Alter but all the other trades which would have the same two-month period in which to complete their works i.e., tilers, underfloor AC, carpet, painters and audiovisual. Thank you to Project Strategies Australia for their involvement in coordinating all the different trades. Lead time before setting foot on site was four months which enabled Queensland Heritage Masonry to have all the materials prepared ready for delivery.
During construction of the High Alter, The Holy Spirit New Farm remained open, this was achieved by sectioning off the back quarter of the
church.
